Japanese people sometimes could say “Nigga! (苦っ/にがっ)” when they felt bitter for coffee or something.

In 2002, a Japanese MLB player called Tsuyoshi Shinjo was drinking a cup of coffee and said “Nigga!” during a game.

His black teammate got really upset and almost about to punch him, but Shinjo couldn’t speak English at all so he didn’t know why his teammate suddenly got upset.
